Seerr: Media Requests for Plex, Jellyfin, and Emby (Overseerr + Jellyseerr)
Seerr is a media request manager. Users browse what is trending, search for a movie or show, and click Request; Seerr sends the request to Sonarr or Radarr, and lets the user know when it is available in your library.
It is the merged successor to two long-running projects: Overseerr, for Plex, and Jellyseerr, its fork that added Jellyfin and Emby. In February 2026 the two teams merged into one team and one codebase, Seerr. Overseerr will no longer receive new features.
Features
- Supports Plex, Jellyfin, and Emby
- Discovery: trending, popular, and upcoming titles, plus search
- Requests for movies, whole series, or specific seasons, with approval workflows
- Sonarr and Radarr integration, including multiple instances such as separate 4K servers
- Library scanning, so already-available titles show as available
- Granular permissions and request limits per user
- Notifications through many agents: email, Discord, Telegram, webhooks, and more
- Watchlist and blocklist
- PostgreSQL or SQLite
Migrating from Overseerr or Jellyseerr
Seerr provides a migration guide at docs.seerr.dev. Back up your existing configuration and database, switch the container image, and follow the guide. Apps that integrate with request managers, such as Streamyfin, already support Seerr.
Deployment
Official Docker images are available. Put Seerr behind a reverse proxy with HTTPS if friends and family will use it from outside your network, and sign users in with their Plex, Jellyfin, or Emby accounts.
