Yamtrack: Self-Hosted Media Tracker

Yamtrack tracks media consumption across categories that usually require separate services: film, television, anime, manga, books, and video games.

The consolidation case

Tracking tends to fragment: Letterboxd for film, MyAnimeList for anime, Goodreads for books, HowLongToBeat for games. Each holds a slice of the same personal history on someone else’s server. Yamtrack keeps all of it in one self-hosted place, which is both more private and considerably easier to look back over.

Features

Per-episode and per-chapter progress, ratings, watch and read history with dates, and multi-user support. Metadata is pulled from the appropriate public database for each category.

Migration

Importers exist for the major services, which is the practical prerequisite for switching. Starting a tracker from zero after a decade elsewhere rarely sticks.

Watcharr is narrower and focused on film and TV; Ryot casts a wider net still, adding fitness among other things.
