BookLogr: Self-Hosted Personal Library Tracker
BookLogr is a self-hosted application for tracking a personal library: what you own, what you are reading, and what you have finished.
Why self-host reading data
Goodreads is owned by Amazon and StoryGraph is a commercial service; both know your complete reading history. For some people that is fine and for others it is exactly the sort of profile they would rather not hand over. BookLogr keeps the catalogue on your own server.
What it tracks
Your book collection with metadata and covers, current reading progress, completed reads with dates, and ratings or notes. It is a tracker rather than a reader: the books themselves live wherever you keep them.
Where it fits alongside other tools
Calibre-Web and Kavita serve ebooks you actually read in the browser. BookLogr is for the physical shelf and the reading log, which is a genuinely different job. Openreads covers similar ground as a mobile-first app.
Deployment
Docker with a persistent volume for the database is the standard path.
