Recyclarr: Sync TRaSH Guides Settings to Sonarr and Radarr

Recyclarr applies the recommendations from the TRaSH Guides, the community’s detailed guides to configuring Sonarr and Radarr, automatically. Instead of copying dozens of custom formats and scores by hand, and redoing it whenever the guides change, you describe what you want in a YAML file and Recyclarr keeps your instances in sync.

What it syncs

  • Quality profiles, including qualities and quality groups
  • Custom formats and their scores, which decide which release wins
  • Quality definitions, the size limits per quality
  • Media naming formats
  • Media management settings such as how propers and repacks are handled

How it works

Write a recyclarr.yml describing each Sonarr and Radarr instance (URL and API key) and which TRaSH templates or custom formats to apply. Then:

recyclarr sync

Recyclarr compares your instances with the guide data and applies the differences. Run it on a schedule, as a cron job, a systemd timer, or with the Docker image’s built-in cron mode, and your settings follow the guides as they evolve.

Deployment

Recyclarr is a command-line application, also distributed as a Docker image. Pin a major version tag (for example 8) rather than latest, since major versions can change the configuration format.

  • autobrr: grabs releases from IRC announces
  • Unpackerr: extracts archived downloads so the *arrs can import them
  • Profilarr: another approach to managing quality profiles and custom formats
