Meetable: Minimal Self-Hosted Events Aggregator

Meetable is a small self-hosted application for publishing a community events calendar.

The problem it addresses

Community groups drifted onto Meetup and Facebook Events because publishing an events page was more work than it should be. Both platforms cost money or require attendees to hold accounts, and both own the resulting data. Meetable puts a simple events site back under the group’s control.

What it does

Lists upcoming and past events with descriptions, times, and locations, and supports events being added by multiple people. It is intentionally minimal: an events page, not a ticketing platform or a social network.

IndieWeb roots

Meetable comes from the IndieWeb community and supports the conventions that ecosystem uses, which makes it a natural fit for groups already publishing on their own domains rather than through platforms.

Deployment

A PHP application with a database, deployable behind any standard web server or in a container.
