whatis appimage
AppImage
A single-file portable Linux app format: download, make executable, and run, with no installation or root access required.
What Is AppImage in Linux?
An AppImage is a compressed filesystem image containing the app and its libraries, plus a small runtime that mounts and runs it. It leaves nothing behind when deleted.
The trade-offs are no automatic updates unless the app builds them in, no sandbox by default, and no desktop integration without a helper tool.
Example
chmod +x App-x86_64.AppImage
./App-x86_64.AppImage Learn more about AppImage
