ShelfPlayer: Audiobookshelf Client for Apple Devices

ShelfPlayer is a native Apple-platform client for Audiobookshelf.

Built for how audiobooks are actually consumed

Audiobook listening happens while driving, walking, and doing chores, which places specific demands on a client: CarPlay support, reliable offline downloads, a sleep timer, precise resume, and playback speed control. ShelfPlayer covers all of them natively rather than wrapping a web view.

Progress sync

Progress reports back to the Audiobookshelf server, so switching between phone, car, and another device resumes at the right second. That sync is the main practical reason to run Audiobookshelf rather than copying files onto a device.

Podcasts too

Audiobookshelf handles podcasts alongside audiobooks, and ShelfPlayer exposes both, which for many people removes the need for a separate podcast app entirely.

Alternatives

The official Audiobookshelf app covers both platforms; Plappa supports Audiobookshelf alongside Jellyfin and Emby if your library is split across servers.
