MyHeats: Self-Hosted Live Leaderboard and Scoring

MyHeats is a self-hosted scoring and leaderboard application for events where results need to be visible as they happen.

What it is for

Club competitions, tournaments, heats at a sports event, or any gathering where someone is currently maintaining scores in a spreadsheet projected onto a wall. MyHeats replaces that with a purpose-built display that updates live as scores are entered.

Why self-host it

Event software is usually either expensive per-event SaaS or a spreadsheet. Self-hosting means no per-event cost, no reliance on venue internet reaching a cloud service, and results that stay yours after the event ends. A laptop on the local network can serve the whole thing.

Practical considerations

Because it typically runs at a venue rather than in a data centre, the deployment worth testing in advance is the offline one: a local machine serving the leaderboard over LAN or a hotspot, with no dependency on external connectivity during the event.
