IT Tools: Self-Hosted Developer Utility Collection
IT Tools bundles the small utilities developers reach for constantly into one self-hosted page.
Why not just use the online versions
Everyone has a set of bookmarked utility sites: a JWT decoder, a base64 encoder, a hash generator, a cron expression parser. The problem is what you paste into them. Decoding a production JWT on a random website means handing someone a valid token. Hashing a password, formatting a config file containing credentials, or decoding a certificate all have the same shape of problem.
IT Tools runs the same utilities on your own server, and most of the tools execute client-side in the browser anyway.
What is included
Encoders and decoders for base64, URL, JWT, and HTML entities; hash and HMAC generators; UUID and password generators; JSON, XML, SQL, and YAML formatters and validators; cron expression explainers; colour converters; regex testers; QR code generators; network utilities like subnet calculators; and a good deal more.
Deployment
A static frontend in a small Docker container with no database and no state. It is one of the cheapest useful things to run, and a natural candidate to sit alongside a dashboard as a permanently-open tab.
Complementary tools on this site
Our own command builders cover the same instinct for Linux specifically: generating crontab expressions, chmod values, and docker run commands without memorizing syntax.
