Whaledeck: Lightweight Docker Management Interface

Whaledeck is a web interface for managing Docker containers, positioned as a lighter alternative to the larger management platforms.

The case for something smaller

Portainer is powerful and carries a lot of concepts: environments, stacks, registries, teams, access control. On a single host running a dozen containers, most of that never gets touched. Whaledeck covers the everyday operations, which are seeing what is running, reading logs, restarting things, and inspecting resource usage.

What it handles

Container listing with status and stats, start, stop, and restart, log viewing, and image management. Enough for daily operation of a personal server without a management layer that is more complex than the thing it manages.

Alternatives worth comparing

Dockge focuses specifically on Compose stacks and is excellent if you deploy that way. DweebUI and Oxker, the latter a terminal UI, occupy similar lightweight territory. Komodo is the option to grow into once one host becomes several.
