Specifically Clementines: Self-Hosted Grocery List
Specifically Clementines is a self-hosted shared grocery list, and its defining characteristic is that it does not try to be anything else.
The case for something this small
Grocery list applications routinely grow into meal planners, pantry inventories, and recipe managers, at which point adding “milk” takes four taps and a category selection. This one keeps a shared list that a household can add to and tick off, syncing between devices in real time.
Where it sits among alternatives
Grocy is the maximalist option: full household inventory with stock levels, expiry tracking, and shopping list generation from what you have run out of. Mealie and Tandoor generate lists from recipes and meal plans. If you want any of that, use those. Specifically Clementines is for the household that wants a list.
Deployment
Docker, with a small persistent volume. Resource requirements are negligible, which makes it a reasonable candidate for a Raspberry Pi already running other services.
