Ruddarr: Native iOS Client for Radarr and Sonarr
Ruddarr is a native iOS client for Radarr and Sonarr. It is not a server: you run the *arr applications yourself, and Ruddarr connects to them over your network or VPN.
What it adds over the web interface
The Radarr and Sonarr web UIs are dense, desktop-first, and painful to operate on a phone. Ruddarr replaces that with a native interface built for touch: search for a film or series, add it to the right root folder and quality profile, and check queue status without pinch-zooming a table designed for a 1440px screen.
Push notifications are the other reason people install it. Instead of opening a dashboard to see whether last night’s grab completed, the phone tells you when a download finishes or fails.
Connecting it
Ruddarr needs the instance URL and API key from each application, taken from Settings, General in Radarr or Sonarr. Multiple instances are supported, so a split setup with separate 4K and 1080p Radarr instances works as expected.
Exposing *arr applications directly to the internet is a bad idea; they were never designed for hostile traffic. Reach them over WireGuard or a Tailscale-style mesh instead, and the app works identically from outside the house.
Platform note
Ruddarr is iOS and iPadOS only. Android users typically reach for nzb360 or LunaSea, both of which cover similar ground with different interface choices.
