Ktistec: Single-User ActivityPub Server
Ktistec is an ActivityPub server built for exactly one person: you, posting from your own domain, federating with the wider fediverse.
The single-user argument
Running a Mastodon instance for yourself is possible and heavy: Ruby, Postgres, Redis, Sidekiq, Elasticsearch if you want search, and a maintenance burden sized for a community server. Ktistec is a single self-contained application written in Crystal, and its resource footprint suits a small VPS rather than a dedicated box.
What you get
Posting, following and being followed across ActivityPub servers including Mastodon, threaded conversations, and full ownership of your identity: your handle is on your domain, so moving hosts later does not mean asking followers to follow a new account.
Tradeoffs
Being single-user by design means no moderation tooling, no local timeline, and no community to join, because there is not one. It is a personal publishing endpoint that federates, closer in spirit to a blog than to a social network account.
