GameVault: Self-Hosted Game Library Platform

GameVault is a self-hosted platform for a personal game library, giving DRM-free games the installation and update experience of a commercial store.

What it is for

People who buy DRM-free games from GOG or itch.io accumulate a folder of installers, which is a poor way to manage a library across machines. GameVault turns that into a proper server: games live on your storage, and a desktop client browses, downloads, installs, and updates them.

Features

A server that indexes your game files with metadata and artwork, user accounts so a household can share the library, progress and playtime tracking, and desktop clients for the install workflow.

What it is not

GameVault does not provide games, acquire them, or circumvent DRM. It manages files you already own, which realistically means DRM-free purchases; Steam titles stay in Steam.

Deployment

Docker Compose with a database and a volume pointing at your game storage. Bandwidth on your LAN is the practical limit when installing large titles.
