About Coolify Cloud
Coolify is an open-source alternative to Heroku and Vercel that you point at your own servers. You connect a VPS by SSH, and Coolify installs Docker, manages deployments, issues certificates, and gives you a dashboard. Your applications run on hardware you rent and control.
Coolify Cloud is the paid version of the same thing, where the control plane runs on their infrastructure instead of yours. The applications still run on your servers. You are paying to not have to keep the management layer alive, which is sensible, because a self-hosted control plane going down while you need to deploy is an irritating failure mode.
The economics are the appeal. A Hetzner box at a few euros a month plus Coolify gives you a platform that would cost considerably more per application on a conventional PaaS.
Pricing
Self-hosting is free with no feature restrictions, which is unusual and to the project’s credit. Coolify Cloud starts around $5/month and includes connecting two servers, with more available at higher tiers.
You pay separately for the servers themselves, wherever you rent them.
Service Details
Deploy from a Git repository with Nixpacks or Dockerfile builds, or run any Docker Compose stack. There is a large template library covering the usual self-hosted applications, so it doubles as an easy way to stand up services from our self-hosted apps directory.
It handles reverse proxying through Traefik or Caddy, Let’s Encrypt certificates, automatic database backups to S3-compatible storage, preview deployments per pull request, and webhooks from GitHub, GitLab, Gitea, and Bitbucket.
Because everything runs as containers on a machine you own, you keep SSH access, you can inspect anything, and there is no vendor holding your data. The corresponding responsibility is that server maintenance, kernel updates, and capacity planning remain yours. Our self-hosting introduction covers what that involves, and the self-hosted apps directory covers what you might run on it.
Available in: Anywhere you can rent a Linux server
