About FDCservers
FDCservers has been selling unmetered bandwidth since the mid-2000s and has changed remarkably little in the process. The proposition is simple: a server on a port you can saturate, in one of a dozen locations, for less than the bandwidth alone would cost elsewhere.
The customer base is streaming, file mirrors, game servers, and anyone with a high egress-to-compute ratio. Linux distribution mirrors have run here for years, which is a reasonable endorsement of the network for that specific job.
Expectations should be calibrated. The hardware is not new, the control panel is dated, and the support is functional rather than delightful. What you are buying is the port.
Pricing
Entry servers on unmetered 1Gbps start around $79/month. A 10Gbps unmetered configuration runs around $249/month, and 40Gbps around $899/month. Compared against per-terabyte pricing at a mainstream cloud, a saturated 10Gbps port would cost a five-figure sum monthly, which is the entire argument.
“Unmetered” here means the port is not capped by transfer volume, but sustained full utilisation is subject to the acceptable use policy. In practice heavy sustained use is expected and tolerated, which is not true everywhere that advertises the word.
Service Details
Full root access, any Linux distribution, IPMI available on request. Both IPv4 and IPv6 are provided, and additional address space can be arranged.
Storage-heavy configurations pair naturally with the bandwidth for mirror and media use. If you are running a public mirror, our package repository explainer covers what that involves on the software side.
Choose this for egress. For low-latency application serving or modern single-thread performance, look at Servers.com or Hetzner instead.
