whatis podman
Podman
A daemonless, Docker-compatible container engine from Red Hat that runs containers rootless by default.
What Is Podman in Linux?
Podman runs containers as direct child processes with no central root daemon, and it accepts nearly the same commands as Docker (alias docker=podman works for most workflows).
It supports pods (groups of containers sharing a network, as in Kubernetes) and integrates with systemd through Quadlet files, making containers first-class system services.
Example
podman run -d -p 8080:80 docker.io/library/nginx Learn more about Podman

- Podman Quadlet: Containers as Real systemd Services Quadlet turns a short declarative file into a generated systemd unit, so containers get dependency ordering, journal logging, and restart handling from systemd instead of from a container runtime.
