Other changes: the remaining coreutils (cp, mv, rm) switch to Rust uutils, TPM-backed disk encryption works without a hardware root of trust when a PIN or passphrase is set, and official RISC-V desktop images are available for SpacemiT K3 boards.
Before you install or upgrade
- Systems using TPM-backed full disk encryption cannot upgrade from 26.04 to 26.10 at release
- Upgrades from 26.04 can stop on a dangling
/lib32symlink; the upgrader fix is in progress - Interim releases need upgrading to the next release within nine months
