OpenShot 4.0.1 was released on September 27, 2026. It is the first update after OpenShot 4.0. We covered it in the news with Shotcut 26.9.27.

- A reworked Razor tool that previews the frame at the cut, snaps to timeline targets, and can remove footage while closing the gap

Installing
chmod +x OpenShot-v4.0.1-x86_64.AppImage
./OpenShot-v4.0.1-x86_64.AppImage
On Ubuntu, sudo snap install openshot installs the new official Snap.
