Emmabuntüs Debian Edition 1.03 is a Debian 13.7 based distribution for refurbished computers with Xfce and LXQt, adding a one-key Easy Menu for accessibility and a text-to-speech document reader in Caja.

Emmabuntüs Debian Edition 1.03 was released on September 28, 2026. It is built on Debian 13.7 “Trixie” with Xfce 4.20 and LXQt 2.1. It is designed for organisations that refurbish donated computers for schools, charities, and people who cannot afford new hardware. We covered it in the news.
What is new
- Easy Menu: press Right Ctrl or F12 for a menu of the main accessibility functions. It is especially helpful for Orca screen reader users.
- Easy Reader TTS: in the Caja file manager, F7 and F8 read a document aloud, including information about its images.

Full or Core?
The Full ISO includes the complete application set that refurbishers hand to end users. Core is smaller, for slower connections or for adding your own software. Both are 64-bit live images installed with Calamares.
Write the ISO to USB with dd or Ventoy, boot, and test it live before installing.
Verify Your Download
Each ISO in the SourceForge 1.03 folder has a matching .iso.sum.txt checksum file (for example emmabuntus-de6-full-amd64-13.7-1.03.iso.sum.txt). Compare its value against the output of sha256sum on your ISO.
