Crafty Controller: A Web Panel for Minecraft Java and Bedrock Servers

Crafty Controller is a web panel for running Minecraft servers on your own hardware. Create servers, start and stop them, watch the console, manage files and backups, and let friends help administer them, all from a browser.

Features

  • Minecraft Java and Bedrock servers
  • One-click server creation for common server types
  • A live console and command input
  • Backups with schedules and retention
  • Scheduled tasks: restarts, commands, and backups on a timer
  • A web file manager for configs, worlds, and plugins
  • Multiple users with role-based permissions, so friends can restart a server without full access
  • Resource statistics per server

Deployment

Crafty 4 is written in Python and runs on Linux, Windows, and in Docker. The Docker image is the easiest route; mount a directory for servers and backups, and publish the web panel port plus a game port for each Minecraft server you run.

Minecraft servers want RAM more than anything: budget 2 to 4 GB per modestly sized Java server, more with mods. Keep the web panel off the public internet or behind strong authentication, and only expose the game ports themselves. Our firewall basics and ufw rule builder help.

Crafty or Pterodactyl?

Pterodactyl and its successor Pelican are general game server panels supporting many games, with each server in its own container, but more complex to set up. Crafty is purpose-built for Minecraft and much quicker to get running. If Minecraft is all you host, start with Crafty.
