ScalaHosting is a Bulgarian and American company whose distinguishing asset is SPanel, a control panel they wrote themselves as an alternative to cPanel. That decision looks increasingly shrewd: cPanel’s licensing costs rose sharply after its 2018 acquisition, and every host that depends on it has been passing those increases on.
SPanel is included free on their plans, covers the usual account, email, database, and DNS management, and adds a security layer they call SShield that monitors for compromised sites.
The managed VPS product is where they compete hardest. A VPS with a panel, managed updates, and support, at a price close to unmanaged elsewhere, is a reasonable offer for someone who wants dedicated resources without becoming a sysadmin.

Shared plans start around $3/month for one site and around $5/month for unlimited, on NVMe storage. Managed VPS starts around $30/month for 2 vCPU and 4GB.

Service Details
SPanel provides one-click WordPress installs, staging environments, automatic daily backups, and free Let’s Encrypt certificates. SSH access is available, and on VPS plans you get root.
The managed VPS tier includes OS patching, monitoring, and support that will actually go into the server for you. That is the meaningful difference from an unmanaged box at Hetzner or Vultr, where everything above the hypervisor is yours.
They also offer cPanel on VPS plans for anyone who needs it specifically, at additional cost.
