About Cloudflare Pages

Cloudflare Pages sits in a strange position: it’s free, it’s fast, and it just works. For static sites (Astro, Hugo, Next.js exports, plain HTML) there’s genuinely nothing easier to set up and nothing faster to serve from.

What Makes It Worth Using

The free tier is absurdly generous. Unlimited bandwidth, unlimited requests, 500 builds per month, and automatic HTTPS with a pages.dev subdomain out of the box. Bring a custom domain and it’s one DNS change away. Deploys wire directly to GitHub or GitLab, push to main, wait 30 seconds, done.

Edge Functions

Where it gets interesting for dynamic content: Cloudflare Workers run at the edge in 300+ locations worldwide. Your serverless functions execute in the datacenter closest to the visitor. Cold starts are measured in milliseconds rather than seconds. The Workers runtime is V8-based (JavaScript/TypeScript/Wasm).

Pricing

The free tier covers virtually all hobby and small production use cases. The Pro plan at $20/month adds more build minutes and advanced redirect rules. Bandwidth and requests are never charged separately on any Pages plan.

The Limits

Build minutes are the main constraint on the free tier (500/month). Very large sites with many files may hit the 20,000 file limit per deployment on free. Workers have a 10ms CPU time limit per request on free (50ms on Pro).

Available in: 300+ edge locations worldwide
