About OVHcloud
OVHcloud is one of Europe’s largest cloud providers, founded in 1999 in France by Octave Klaba. They offer VPS, bare metal dedicated servers, Public Cloud (OpenStack-based), web hosting, and domain registration. OVHcloud builds and operates its own data centers and owns its network infrastructure, which enables competitive pricing. The VPS range is particularly popular among European customers.
Pricing
VPS Starter begins at €3.50/mo (1 vCPU, 2GB RAM, 20GB SSD) billed monthly, or cheaper on annual contracts. Plans scale to €6/mo (2 vCPU, 2GB), €9/mo (2 vCPU, 4GB), and €15/mo (4 vCPU, 8GB). Dedicated servers start from around €30/mo. Bandwidth is generally unmetered on VPS at rates appropriate to the plan tier.
Service Details
OVHcloud uses KVM virtualization on their VPS range. The control panel (OVHcloud Manager) allows reboots, reinstalls, KVM console access, and snapshot management. Anti-DDoS protection (VAC) is included on all VPS plans at no extra charge. IPv6 is included. Snapshots are available for purchase. OVHcloud holds multiple compliance certifications including ISO 27001, SOC 2, HDS (French healthcare data standard).
