Linode was founded in 2003 and has been one of the longest-running independent VPS providers. Acquired by Akamai Technologies in 2022, the platform is now marketed as Akamai Cloud. It offers KVM-based instances with consistent performance and a straightforward pricing model. The entry-level Nanode starts at $5/mo (1 vCPU, 1GB RAM, 25GB SSD, 1TB transfer). Standard plans scale to $12/mo (2GB), $24/mo (4GB), and $48/mo (8GB). Dedicated CPU, High Memory, GPU, and Premium plans are also available. Outbound bandwidth beyond the included allotment is $0.01/GB.
