· Updated
Vultr Bare Metal brings the cloud deployment model to single-tenant dedicated hardware. Servers provision in under 10 minutes via API or web console, with hourly billing available for short-term workloads, a significant advantage over traditional dedicated hosting that requires days of provisioning lead time.
AMD EPYC Zen 4
All Vultr Bare Metal servers run AMD EPYC Genoa (9000-series) processors, current-generation silicon with high core counts, large L3 cache, and DDR5 support on higher tiers. This is enterprise-grade CPU architecture without the enterprise lead times.
25Gbps Network
Vultr’s bare metal servers connect to a 25Gbps network fabric. This matters for high-throughput storage access, inter-server communication, and egress-heavy workloads. Bandwidth pricing is per GB consumed beyond the included allocation.
API-First
The Vultr API provides full lifecycle management: provision, reinstall, snapshot, destroy. Terraform, Pulumi, and Ansible providers are maintained and production-ready. This makes Vultr Bare Metal suitable for infrastructure-as-code workflows where traditional dedicated hosting’s manual provisioning process is a bottleneck.
Global Coverage
32 locations across 6 continents. Unlike most bare metal providers that concentrate in 3–5 locations, Vultr’s global footprint lets you deploy dedicated hardware close to end users anywhere in the world.
Verdict
Best bare metal option for teams comfortable with cloud-native tooling who need dedicated performance without the procurement friction of traditional hosting. More expensive than Hetzner or OVHcloud but the API, instant provisioning, and global reach justify it for automated infrastructure.
