About Velia.net

Velia.net runs data center space in Frankfurt and Dusseldorf, plus a presence in Miami, and has been operating since the early 2000s. Frankfurt matters because of DE-CIX, the largest internet exchange in the world by traffic, and Velia peers there extensively.

For a European service, being one hop from DE-CIX is a meaningful latency and reliability advantage over being in a facility that reaches it through transit.

The product mix is bare metal, colocation, and IP transit, aimed at businesses rather than at the budget end of the market. Germany also brings the strictest data protection regime in the EU, which some customers specifically want.

Pricing

Single-socket Xeon servers start around €65/month, dual-socket configurations around €195/month, and colocation around €39 per U in Frankfurt with power metered separately.

Setup is typically one to three business days. Contracts are usually monthly with longer terms discounted.

Service Details

Full root, any Linux distribution, IPMI or KVM-over-IP for out-of-band access, and IPv6 as standard. Additional IP blocks and BGP sessions are available, and they will announce customer address space.

The Miami presence is useful for a Latin America facing service, though the German locations are the core of the business.

Colocation with the option to start on rented hardware and later move your own equipment into the same facility is a practical growth path, and cross-connects between the two are straightforward.

Support operates in German and English, business hours for standard requests with 24/7 coverage for outages.

Available in: Frankfurt and Dusseldorf, Germany; Miami, United States
