Bazzite 44.20260802

Bazzite is built on the same rpm-ostree atomic foundation as Fedora Silverblue and Kinoite, but tuned specifically for gaming: it ships Steam and Lutris preinstalled, includes HDR and VRR display support, tuned CPU schedulers for lower input latency, and a console-style “Gaming Mode” session modeled after Valve’s SteamOS, in addition to a normal desktop session for everyday use.
Image Variants
Rather than a single ISO, Bazzite publishes a matrix of dated images split by GPU vendor (AMD, Intel, NVIDIA) and desktop environment (KDE Plasma or GNOME), plus handheld-specific builds for devices like the Steam Deck, ROG Ally, and Legion Go. New dated builds are published on a near-daily cadence rather than following fixed point releases.
Why People Use It
For gaming-first PCs and handhelds, Bazzite removes most of the manual setup that a stock Fedora or Ubuntu install would otherwise need for a good Steam/Proton experience: correct GPU drivers, gamescope, and controller support come configured out of the box, and the atomic update model means a bad driver update can be rolled back at boot just like on Silverblue.
System Requirements
- CPU: 64-bit x86 processor (or supported handheld SoC)
- RAM: 8 GB minimum, 16 GB recommended
- Storage: 40 GB free space, more for a large Steam library
